YOU

As an Engineering Technician, you'll take on a pivotal role in providing essential support to our engineering department and testing laboratory. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of critical projects across all product lines, fostering collaboration among departments, and contributing significantly to our organizational objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Contribute to process and product improvement projects by actively participating in product enhancement initiatives. Assist engineers with testing, data analysis, and management tasks. Also, play a role in maintaining departmental technical documents and standards. Collaborate closely with the Engineering Support Manager to ensure alignment with organizational goals and quality standards. (40%)

Oversee operational processes by facilitating incoming task requests, ensuring adherence to established procedures, and following up on outstanding requests. Meticulously maintain relevant data records. Collaborate closely with the Engineering Support Manager to streamline workflows and optimize efficiency. (20%)

Participate in data collection and management efforts by assisting in the preparation of product literature, specifications, work instructions, and other engineering documents. Conduct research and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding product testing, installation procedures, material properties, and other technical aspects. Collaborate with the Engineering Support Manager to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation. (20%)

Support the Engineering Support Manager in special projects, providing technical expertise and problem-solving skills to project objectives. Assist in product testing activities in R&D Labs, documenting procedures and results. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by proposing and implementing solutions aligned with the quality management system. Support process improvement projects under the guidance of the Engineering Support Manager. (20%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical field experience.
  • Proficiency in mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, as well as the application of mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, proportions, probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry, along with competence in calculating figures such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, reliability in adhering to instructions, policies, and deadlines, while effectively multitasking, implementing problem-solving solutions, and showing initiative, anticipation, and proactive problem prevention.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration abilities, fostering cooperative working relationships and consensus building within the department.
  • Understanding and interpretation of mechanical drawings and drafting standards.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments and ability to read tolerances accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint, with willingness to learn new software.

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used.

Work Status & Location

This full-time, exempt position is located in Pleasanton, CA but may be open to remote for the ideal candidate.

Pay

$56400 - $108300 / year
* Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
