Overview

As an Equipment Asset Accountant at Flatiron, you will be responsible for applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for the company's equipment program. This includes documenting fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions, maintaining inventory, fixed asset disposal, and analyzing project costs to align with fixed asset budgets.

What you will be doing
    Monthly reconciliation of the Lease Liability Schedule.
  • Monthly reconciliation of the master AFE/AFD log against JDE 1 Asset Inventory.
  • Reconciles and closes out machine retirements and disposals in JDE 1 that are sold, no longer in use, or scraped out.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information in order to transact journal entries to the general ledger for the equipment department.
  • Performs intercompany billings and reconciliation for assigned projects or divisions to ensure balanced intercompany accounts monthly.
  • New asset/new machine setup in JDE 1.
  • Analyzes and establishes new equipment rates in fixed asset module.
  • Performs progress pay estimate billings for all assigned projects or divisions of the company.
  • Prepares and coordinates assigned month-end closing schedules and entries.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company's values and strategic plan.
  • Supports published corporate policies.
  • Performs additional assignments per management's direction.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, or other relevant field required.
  • Experience with Fixed Assets, Capitalization, and Depreciation preferred.
  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise 1 ERP Software preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Products including, Adobe Pro, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Strong self-prioritization skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytics and trend analysis experience and knowledge.
  • Knowledge of sales and use tax requirements, as needed.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
