RK Energy is actively seeking an experienced executive with a proven track record of successful P&L leadership in manufacturing and fabricating modular skidded designs for the hydrocarbon and "green" energy sectors. The ideal candidate must be dedicated to team development, driving profitable growth, enhancing operational efficiency, and expanding our market presence in all energy-related opportunities. This role demands a leader who can sustain growth while optimizing company culture, efficiency, profitability, quality, and customer service.
Reporting directly to the CEO of the Holding Company, this executive position is a senior role within the executive team. The primary objective for this role is to lead the profitable multi-state expansion of our business unit while improving operational efficiencies and implementing best practices in KPIs and data management. It is essential that the successful candidate aligns with and upholds our company's core values.

Reporting Relationships
The President will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with management to elevate the business to the next level of operational excellence, ensuring timely project completion and consistent delivery of customer requirements. This role entails overseeing a multi-million-dollar business unit with a focus on aggressive growth. The President will have comprehensive responsibilities encompassing manufacturing, operations, engineering, and the optimization of customer relationships. It is imperative that this leader concentrates on enhancing the operational performance of the business unit. Additionally, the President will have full accountability for the P&L of the business unit and will act as the primary liaison for all internal and external relationships, spanning from customers to field personnel.
Responsibilities
The President will play a hands-on role overseeing and leading business strategy, development, proposals, estimating, engineering, procurement, fabrication, manufacturing, project execution, and personnel development for the Energy team. The primary objective is to ensure the Business Unit meets or exceeds its annual performance and financial goals. This includes providing key performance indicators (KPIs) to ownership, leadership, and relevant management, facilitating the transition towards a more data-driven management approach.
Specifically, this position will lead the business unit towards higher revenue growth and profitability by aligning operations and processes with the expansion in revenue. The President will also address day-to-day operational challenges and identify opportunities for service enhancement.
One of the key responsibilities of the President will be to establish clear KPIs and foster a culture that emphasizes goal setting and data-driven decision-making. This leader will refine existing organizational processes and systems to improve overall performance, achieve measurable results, and implement lean principles throughout the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leadership of the business to industry leading standards in safety and quality.
- Develop a business culture of winning, respect and ethical conduct.
- Accountable for full P&L for the business unit.
- Responsible for the overall vision, strategic planning, and long-range business development for the business unit.
- Responsible for the overall customer - external and internal - satisfaction and relationships.
- Work with the Company's other business unit presidents/general managers to assure customer satisfaction, if applicable.
- Lead and work with the business unit's managers and Corporate Human Resources to ensure the required workforce is attracted, developed, and maintained, and resources are appropriately allocated.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, guidance, and support for the Energy team members.
- Responsible for development, implementation, and enforcement of the Energy Business Unit's processes and procedures.
- Developing and executing against a plan or budget. Must be comfortable directing financial planning and budgeting, and with it, product planning, new product development, margin analysis and continual efficiency initiatives, etc., all with a bias towards process-driven solutions.
- Proactively communicate with leadership, playing a key role in developing reporting packages and key dashboard metrics.
- Represent the business unit as required in the industry, with key customers and community constituents.
- The President must be comfortable managing and driving plant and field results and interacting with field level issues in addition to the broader demands of operating as a strategic leader for the company.
- Play lead role in executive management meetings, presenting relevant operational presentations and updates.
- Provide assigned staff with ongoing feedback, direction, and guidance to ensure well-motivated and productive workgroup.
- This position must operate as a true strategic and tactical leader for the Company, managing, mentoring and leading the business unit's organization in total.
- Lead project meetings to review and/or resolve significant performance and financial issues and keep all managers updated on department and corporate developments.
- Understand both ASME and ISO certifications and maintain those standards.
Accountability:
- Comply with all Corporate company policies, and procedures.
- All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
- The Business Unit's employees and subcontractors must implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices, including the training requirements of the Company's orientation and CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens.
The Candidate
Education:
Bachelor's degree required; M.B.A. preferred. An undergraduate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is desired, and related industry experience would be a plus.
Professional Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills and experience either as the senior executive or as a divisional manager with comprehensive responsibilities. Experience in an industrial manufacturing / fabrication environment is required.
- A minimum of 15-20 years operational management experience, with a minimum of 10 years in a senior management leadership role.
- Prior experience serving as the President, Division / Business Unit leader, VP Operations, VP Manufacturing or similar role of an industrial manufacturing enterprise.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a business of at least $10-$50M of revenue.
- Track record of establishing directions and leads the development of short and long-term corporate strategies and objectives.
- Track record of determining and promoting company goals, strategies, products, services, and achievements to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ultimate accountability for performance results of the organization.
- Strong understanding of the following: LEAN, Six-Sigma, 5S, ASME, welding procedures, and labor productivity.
- OSHA 30-hour required.
- Establish direction and lead the development of short and long-term corporate strategies and objectives.
- Accountable for critical decisions and the integration of cross-functional strategies.
- A track-record of successfully evolving and transforming a business is highly desired.
- Proven abilities in managing a diverse group of disciplinary leaders.
- Excellent communication skills and leadership quality. Ability to work well as part of the top management team to facilitate growth and expansion while strengthening the organization.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Aggressive "can do" attitude combined with a sense of urgency and a commitment to quality.
