Interstate Power System's is looking for a Certified MTU Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) for our Cheyenne Wyoming location. We are currently seeking Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) to join our team who are specializing in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU and more! We are seeking a highly skilled and certified MTU Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As an MTU Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of MTU diesel engines used in marine, industrial, and power generation applications. Your expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic components will be crucial in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our customers' equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting all work performed in accordance with company standards and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Duties:

  • Diagnose and repair MTU diesel engines, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Troubleshoot engine malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose engine problems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities performed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate work and provide status updates.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and MTU product developments.

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Requirements:

  • Certification as an MTU Diesel Mechanic or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience working with MTU diesel engines, preferably in marine, industrial, or power generation settings.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
