Emily Grey is a small elementary charter school located in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis. Our diverse group of students learn in a safe, mulitcultural community created by caring and effective teachers, nurturing staff, and involved parents. Students at Emily Grey develop:

• Strong academic skills: The Core Knowledge Sequence provides our teachers and students with a strong framework for learning and a wealth of resources.

• Confidence in themselves and a passion for learning: Through teaching approaches that are, collectively, called Accelerated Learning the staff at Emily Grey address the social and emotional sides of learning. When children believe in themselves and know that they can learn, learning becomes a very positive experience.

• A sense of community and responsibility through service learning and environmental education: Volunteer activities, field trips to the Audubon Center in Sandstone, a school garden and a recycling policy help our students to understand what it means to be part of a larger community.
